Uttar Pradesh Enhances Security with AI and Chatbots

mahakumbh

The Uttar Pradesh Government is gearing up to host the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, starting January 13, 2025. This monumental event is expected to draw millions of pilgrims from across India and around the globe. To ensure a safe and orderly environment during the 45-day festival, meticulous logistical and security planning is underway. In anticipation of the massive influx of visitors, the state has deployed over 6,000 members of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) to maintain safety and order throughout the city and along the riverbanks. Additionally, ten flood companies will be stationed near the rivers to ensure the security of worshippers participating in rituals close to the water.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the UP Police have initiated a training program called ‘Sankalp Training Pandal’ at Parade Ground, Prayagraj. With the motto “Surakhsha Aapki, Sankalp Humara” (Your safety, our commitment), this program trains officers not only in security protocols but also in soft skills and gender sensitivity, ensuring respectful interactions with pilgrims. Officers will be equipped to assist devotees with directions, parking, transport, and accommodation, ensuring a smooth experience for all attendees.

Maha Kumbh 2025 Security for Traveller Assistance

To further enhance the management of this large-scale event, the police are being trained to utilize advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including the Bhashini app, a language-translation tool designed to assist visitors from various regions of India and international tourists. Chatbots will also be implemented for real-time assistance, integrating technology into the overall event management strategy.

In preparation for the anticipated crowds, significant infrastructure development is underway in the travel sector. New railway overbridges are being constructed, and roadways are being widened. Under the leadership of Paras Ram Pandey, the state transport agency is set to deploy over 7,000 buses across Uttar Pradesh, including 320 specifically for the Varanasi area. Special Janrath AC buses will be available around the clock to ensure pilgrims enjoy a comfortable journey.

For those planning to attend the Maha Kumbh, it is crucial to keep in mind the expected large crowds and potential transportation disruptions. Advance accommodation bookings and strategic route planning are highly recommended to avoid congestion.

As the event approaches, pilgrims can look forward to a well-organized experience, with the state government prioritizing both safety and convenience for all attendees.
