Russia to Introduce E-Visa System for Indian Passport Holders

In a bid to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance tourism between India and Russia, the Russian Federation is set to launch the Electronic Visa (e-Visa) system for Indian passport holders on August 1, 2023. This new initiative will enable Indian nationals to apply for their Russian visa with ease and convenience, providing them with an opportunity to embark on enriching travel experiences.

The e-Visa system will facilitate entry into Russia for various purposes, including guest visits, business trips, tourism, and participation in various events. By implementing this system, the authorities aim to streamline the visa application process, eliminating the need for extensive documentation and reducing the processing time significantly.

Under the new guidelines, the maximum processing time for issuing a single-entry visa through the e-Visa system will be limited to just four calendar days. Moreover, the consular fee for the e-Visa will be approximately USD 40, making it an affordable option for travelers eager to explore the beauty and wonders of Russia.
