Village Kere to be Developed as a Model Community Tourism Destination

Jashpur has taken a significant step toward establishing itself as a major eco-tourism destination. In the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed today at the Chief Minister’s camp office in Bagia between Homestays of India, the Government of Chhattisgarh, and the Jashpur district administration. Under this agreement, Village Kere will be developed as a model community-based tourism village. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the homestays developed in Village Kere.

Under the MoU, efforts will be made to develop Jashpur’s first organized homestay village and to establish a structured and scalable homestay-based rural tourism ecosystem. The initiative aims to ensure active participation of local families, strengthen sustainable livelihoods, and promote entrepreneurship among youth and women through capacity building and skill development. The core objective of the project is to preserve and promote local culture, traditions, and natural heritage, ensuring that tourism development remains inclusive, community-owned, and environmentally sustainable while safeguarding the region’s cultural identity.

The MoU was signed by Jashpur Collector Rohit Vyas, Chief Executive Officer Vinod Verma, and representatives of Homestays of India Pvt. Ltd. in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Officials stated that the initiative aligns with the state government’s vision of eco-tourism, inclusive development, and community-led economic growth. By offering authentic tourism experiences rooted in local culture and nature, the project is expected to strengthen Jashpur’s identity and help position it prominently on the national tourism map.
