Hyderabad: A Rail Coach Restaurant on Necklace Road
In an exciting development, the South Central Railway’s Secunderabad division has inaugurated a rail coach restaurant at the Necklace Road railway station. This establishment proudly stands as the second of its kind within Telangana, the first being the ‘Restaurant on Wheels’ at Kacheguda station.
This innovative venture involved the transformation of an idle rail coach into a visually stunning and contemporary dining destination, promising travelers a truly unique culinary experience. Operating for the next five years, the rail coach restaurant at Necklace Road railway station will be managed by the well-known Hyderabad-based Boomerang Restaurant.
This multi-cuisine restaurant not only caters to train passengers but also welcomes the general public, making the most of available space within the station’s circulation area. Patrons can enjoy a leisurely dine-in experience or opt for convenient takeout, selecting from a diverse range of cuisines.
The addition of this unique dining option is a boon for food enthusiasts in the twin cities, as stated by SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain. He enthusiastically encouraged both railway passengers and the general public to partake in this facility, offering them a firsthand experience of the railway’s cutting-edge approach to enhancing the passenger journey in the region.
What exactly is A Rail Coach Restaurant?…
A rail coach restaurant, known as a dining car or a restaurant car, offers a unique dining experience by setting up a restaurant inside a railway coach or car. Scenic train routes, luxury trains, and heritage railways typically feature these dining cars. They offer passengers the opportunity to enjoy a meal while traveling through picturesque landscapes or historical routes.
