Sikkim Unveils India’s Longest Ropeway in Yangang

Sikkim is now home to India’s longest ropeway, the Dhapper-Bale-Dhunga Ropeway, located in the picturesque town of Yangang, Namchi district. This major development, inaugurated on September 16, marks a significant milestone in the state’s tourism sector.

The inauguration was graced by prominent figures, including Sikkim Assembly Vice-Chairperson Rajkumari Thapa and former Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, Vikas Basnet. During the event, Mr. Thapa credited Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang for bringing this project to fruition, emphasizing that it had been neglected by the previous administration.

Stretching across a vast distance, the ropeway offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes, promising to enhance tourism not only in Yangang but across neighboring regions. This project stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to boosting tourism infrastructure in Sikkim.
