“India & UNWTO Launch G20 Tourism Dashboard”

The Ministry of Tourism of the Government of India, in partnership with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), has unveiled the G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard, a groundbreaking initiative introduced by Minister of Tourism, Culture, and DONER, G. Kishan Reddy.

This innovative platform, developed under India’s G20 Presidency and with the collaborative expertise of UNWTO, underscores India’s unwavering dedication to sustainable tourism. The G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard serves as a repository of best practices, case studies, and insights from G20 member countries, all designed to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It represents a lasting legacy of India’s G20 Presidency, symbolizing its commitment to global cooperation and sustainable growth within the global tourism sector.

The G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard is a comprehensive online public resource, consolidating the collective wisdom of the G20 Tourism Working Group. It synthesizes the GOA Roadmap, survey findings, case studies, and best practices from G20 nations. The dashboard not only provides insights into sustainable tourism practices but also serves as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, collaboration, and industry growth.

UNWTO commented, “G20 countries collectively account for over 70% of global tourism. Their leadership in reshaping the sector is pivotal. Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping, and Waterways of India, Shripad Yesso Naik, noted during his address, “The SDG Dashboard represents a pivotal step in our journey, aligning seamlessly with our commitment to harnessing the benefits of digitalization for the betterment of the tourism sector and the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.”
