NDMC Unveils Plans for New Green Park Near Red Fort

Delhi, a city adorned with historical splendor and vibrant cultural tapestries, is on the cusp of embracing a transformative urban venture while honoring its rich heritage. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is spearheading the creation of a Heritage Green Park adjacent to the iconic Red Fort, an ambitious initiative poised to seamlessly blend the essence of bygone epochs with contemporary urban development.

Embarking on a phased approach, the NDMC has already marked significant progress in the park’s inception. The inaugural phase witnessed meticulous landscaping efforts, including the planting of trees, installation of lighting fixtures, and the establishment of pedestrian pathways, setting the stage for a serene and welcoming environment.

As the project transitions into its second phase, attention turns to the construction of a distinctive boundary wall. Inspired by the architectural nuances of Old Delhi, this towering edifice, reaching approximately 10 feet in height, promises to infuse the park’s periphery with an authentic historical charm.

Moreover, the inclusion of recreational amenities such as swings and slides aims to transform the park into a delightful retreat for children and families alike, seamlessly blending historical appreciation with contemporary leisure pursuits.

An NDMC official reiterated the project’s overarching goal: to elevate the aesthetic allure of the Red Fort vicinity, creating a space that not only captivates tourists but also serves as a recreational sanctuary for local residents. This endeavor underscores a commitment to enriching urban living standards by preserving and celebrating cultural heritage.

In parallel with the development of the Heritage Green Park, the NDMC is poised to unveil another recreational gem: a Theme Park in Karol Bagh, slated for inauguration in April 2024. Envisioned as a dynamic entertainment complex, this park will feature an array of amenities tailored for children’s enjoyment, alongside an amphitheater poised to host cultural events and performances, fostering community engagement and cultural appreciation.

Set to emerge as a favored destination for leisure and cultural enrichment, the forthcoming park underscores NDMC’s steadfast dedication to enhancing public spaces and enriching the lives of Delhi’s residents and visitors alike.
