Vizag to unveil India’s longest glass skywalk
Visakhapatnam is about to add a new landmark to its skyline a longest glass skywalk on Kailasagiri Hill, set to become the longest of its kind in India. Suspended high above the city, the bridge blends thrill, engineering brilliance, and breathtaking views of the Bay of Bengal and the Eastern Ghats.
Anand Mahindra calls Vizag India’s longest glass skywalk stunning
Even before its opening, the skywalk has grabbed attention. Anand Mahindra shared images of the bridge on X, describing it as absolutely stunning. With his trademark humor, he admitted that despite its beauty, he’d admire it from afar given his uneasy relationship with heights.
The numbers behind the thrill
- Length: 55 m into the air
- Height: 862 ft above ground, nearly 1,000 ft above sea level
- Drop: 262 m vertical plunge beneath the deck
The walkway uses German-engineered tempered laminated glass three layers of 40 mm panels set in a 40-tonne steel framework. Built to withstand winds up to 250 kmph and a load of 500 kg per square meter, it priorities safety without dulling the adventure.

To manage crowds and maintain safety, only 40 visitors will be allowed at a time, each group spending 5–10 minutes on the deck. Entry fees are expected to be in the INR 250–300 range.
India’s new record-holder
The project, a collaboration between Vizag-based SSM Shipping & Logistics, Kerala’s Bharat Mata Ventures (creators of the Vagamon Glass Bridge), and the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), surpasses Vagamon’s 38-metre bridge to become India’s longest glass skywalk.
More than just adrenaline
Beyond the thrill of standing on glass with a 262-metre drop below, the bridge offers 360° panoramas of sea, hills, and city. After dark, tricolor-themed illuminations will turn it into a magnet for travelers, photographers, and content creators.
With its mix of adventure and spectacle, Vizag’s skywalk is set to become one of the most photogenic and talked-about attractions in the country.
