Dubai is gearing up to host the inaugural ‘India by the Creek’ festival, a vibrant celebration of the deep-rooted historical connections between India and the emirate of Dubai. Scheduled to unfold from March 8 to 10 at Al Seef Park, this cultural extravaganza invites all with free admission, promising an enriching experience for attendees.

Jointly organized by Dubai Duty Free in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Dubai, and Teamwork Arts, supported by Dubai Economy and Tourism, and Khaleej Times, this festival marks a significant milestone in fostering cultural exchange between the two nations.

Satish Kumar Sivan, the Consul General of India in Dubai, expressed his enthusiasm for the event’s inception, highlighting its mission to showcase the diverse cultural heritage shared by the UAE and India. He emphasized the profound relationship between the two countries, rooted in common values of culture, diversity, and tolerance.

Expectations for Attendees:

Over the span of three days, Al Seef Park will buzz with collaborative artistic performances featuring artists from both India and the UAE. Esteemed personalities and performers from India, spanning various fields such as academia, literature, music, and diplomacy, including renowned bands like Indian Ocean, will grace the event with their presence and talent.

The festival, curated by Teamwork Arts, draws upon their extensive expertise in organizing cultural events globally. With a legacy of over three decades and having orchestrated over 33 festivals across 26 countries and 72 cities, Teamwork Arts aims to deepen the cultural bonds between India and Dubai through ‘India by the Creek’.

Sanjoy K Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, envisions the festival to become a recurring highlight on Dubai’s cultural calendar, offering an array of activities, workshops, and performances catering to all age groups.

Ramesh Cidambi, COO of Dubai Duty Free, emphasized the significance of India as a pivotal market and expressed eagerness in sponsoring the festival, which seamlessly blends Indian and Emirati cultures in a vibrant and distinctive ambiance.

Ravi Menon, representing the festival’s local partner, reflected on the collaborative journey that brought ‘India by the Creek’ to fruition, acknowledging the collective efforts that have made this cultural extravaganza possible.
