Jamnagar Airport Receives International Status for 10-Day Extravaganza

The upcoming nuptials of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant have sparked nationwide excitement, with Jamnagar emerging as the focal point of attention. This bustling city in Gujarat is set to host a plethora of distinguished personalities from around the world, adding to the fervor surrounding the event.

Notable figures such as Rihanna, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg are among the international dignitaries gracing the occasion. In anticipation of their arrival and to cater to the needs of such esteemed guests, Jamnagar Airport has been temporarily designated as an international airport for a period of 10 days.

Granted by the Indian Air Force, this special status spans from February 25 to March 5, aligning perfectly with the three-day festivities in Jamnagar. The event promises to be a grand affair, attracting luminaries from both India and abroad.

In preparation for the influx of guests, various government ministries, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Home Affairs, have collaborated to establish a Custom, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) facility at the airport.

Jamnagar Airport, primarily serving defense purposes, also facilitates commercial flights. To accommodate the heightened activity surrounding the celebrations, the Airport Authority of India has expanded the passenger terminal building, doubling its capacity to approximately 360 passengers.

Moreover, the Indian Air Force has granted access to the airport’s sensitive ‘technical’ area, capable of accommodating up to three aircraft simultaneously. Additional staff, including housekeeping and security personnel, have been deployed to ensure smooth operations during this extraordinary period.

Luxury tents at the Reliance Greens Complex have been arranged to accommodate VIP guests, providing them with unparalleled comfort and amenities. These temporary lodgings are expected to host around 1000 esteemed guests from various corners of the globe.

As the excitement mounts, Jamnagar Airport eagerly awaits the arrival of celebrities and dignitaries. The guest list reads like a who’s who of global influencers, with former Prime Ministers, Presidents, and business leaders set to grace the occasion with their presence.
