In a strategic move, Tata Group is set to establish two luxurious Taj resorts in Lakshadweep by 2026. This announcement follows the heightened attention on Lakshadweep after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit, marking a significant development for the picturesque archipelago.

The Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (IHCL), a subsidiary of Tata Group, had disclosed plans in January of the previous year to launch two Taj resorts in Lakshadweep. IHCL will execute these Greenfield projects, scheduled for completion in 2026.

Puneet Chhatwal, MD and CEO of IHCL, expressed optimism about Lakshadweep’s potential, highlighting its pristine beaches and coral reefs within the Arabian Sea. The two Taj resorts aim to attract both international and domestic travelers to the region.

The chosen locations for the Taj resorts are Suheli and Kadmat, well-known tourist destinations within the Lakshadweep archipelago, which comprises 36 islands, including Bangaram, Agatti, Kadmath, Minicoy, Kavaratti, Suheli, and Kadmat.
