India’s First ‘Jurassic Park’ – Inspired Dinosaur Park Set to Open
In a groundbreaking initiative by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the nation’s inaugural ‘Jurassic Park’- like dinosaur park is on the verge of unveiling its wonders in Sarai Kale Khan. Anticipated to open its gates to the public by the end of the upcoming month, the Waste-to-Art dinosaur park is set to redefine India’s recreational landscape. Boasting 54 impressive dinosaur replicas, ranging from 9 to 65 feet in height and up to 54 feet in length, this park is a unique creation crafted entirely from discarded materials like scrap metal, old tires, car remnants, and horticulture waste.
These life-sized replicas are not merely static displays; they mimic realistic movements and exhibit captivating features, including the ability to produce roaring sounds, growls, hisses, and even spit fire. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Jurassic Park, the park incorporates innovative light and sound effects, bringing to life scenes reminiscent of the film, such as dinosaurs crushing vehicles.
With an estimated 80% completion status, the park has utilized nearly 300 tonnes of waste material for its construction. Aiming to showcase replicas representing 15 dinosaur species, including Coelophysis, Brontosaurus, Velociraptor, Tsintaosaurus, Deinosuchus, Rajasaurus, Prenocephale, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Amargasaurus, Spinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Diplodocus, and Stegosaurus, the park promises an immersive and educational experience.
Dinosaur Park – Jurassic like Experience at this Park
Upon entrance, visitors will encounter meticulously crafted replicas of three stegosaurus dinosaurs, creatively composed using horticulture waste, scrap, and car remnants. The park also features a group of small, feathered Velociraptor dinosaurs and a colossal 53×50 feet replica of the infamous Tyrannosaurus Rex from the Jurassic Park franchise. This T-Rex replica is designed to spit fire and blink its eyes, elevating the overall visitor experience.
Encompassing 3.5 acres adjacent to the Waste-to-Wonder Park, the dinosaur park integrates various recreational activities tailored for children. Safety is prioritized in features such as slides, climbing ropes, and swings, ensuring no sharp edges pose a risk. Additionally, the park introduces a 60-foot-wide, 25-foot-tall replica of the Spinosaurus, complete with a play area that includes safety measures for children.
On the opposite end of the spectrum stands the park’s tallest replica, a 65-foot-tall diplodocus, with its tail transformed into a slide. Meticulous attention to detail involves the careful cutting of scrap materials, with tires utilized to cover the metal body for both safety and aesthetic enhancement.
The immersive experience at this innovative dinosaur park is further complemented by strategic landscaping, featuring the planting of trees, shrubs, and grass, creating a captivating environment for visitors of all ages.
