World’s First Om-shaped Temple: A Marvel in Rajasthan’s Pali District
In the heart of Pali, Rajasthan, an architectural wonder is taking shape – a temple crafted in the sacred symbol of ‘Om.’ This extraordinary om-shaped temple, set to be the world’s first of its kind, promises not only to captivate tourists but also to leave an indelible mark visible even from space, according to reports.
Soon to grace the village of Jadan in Rajasthan’s Pali district, this om-shaped temple has been in the making for nearly three decades since the laying of its foundation stone. This groundbreaking endeavor heralds a significant milestone as it pioneers the creation of such a distinctive temple globally.
Named the ‘Om Aakar’ temple, this colossal structure sprawls across 250 acres in Jadan, with over 400 dedicated individuals tirelessly working towards its completion. Reports indicate that the monumental task began with the laying of the temple’s foundation stone in 1995, with expectations set for its grand unveiling by 2023-24.
Swami Maheshwaranand Maharaj, esteemed by devotees worldwide, has hailed this temple as a revolutionary architectural marvel, emphasizing its status as the world’s first Om-shaped temple.
A striking feature of this temple is its capacity to house 1,008 idols of Lord Mahadev and 12 Jyotirlingas within its sacred confines. Rising to a majestic height of 135 ft, the temple is supported by 2,000 pillars, with provisions made for 108 rooms on its premises. Notably, the temple complex’s centerpiece is the tomb of Guru Madhavanand ji.
Om-Shaped Temple Marvel in Rajasthan
The sanctum adorns the temple’s uppermost segment with a shivling crafted from a rhinestone sourced from the Bansi hill of Dholpur. To enhance its magnificence, the builders have constructed an immense tank with a capacity of 2 lakh tonnes beneath the temple complex.
The visionary behind this grand undertaking is Vishwa Guru Maha Mandleshwar Paramahansa Swami Maheswara Nanda Puriji Maharaj, the founder of the Om Ashram. In Hinduism, the Om mantra holds profound significance as the Mahamantra, recited daily by adherents upon awakening.
For eager visitors, Jadan village conveniently lies along National Highway 62, approximately 71 km from Jodhpur airport. Travelers can also opt for trains from Delhi to Ahmedabad, reaching Marwar Junction for convenient access to the temple.
Moreover, this Om-shaped temple adheres to the Nagara style prevalent in North India, boasting a sprawling layout with the Om symbol extending over a radius of approximately half a kilometer. This intricate design pays homage to the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the region, further cementing its status as a marvel in Rajasthan’s Pali district.
